Stress, Sleep & Digestion

Stress, sleep and digestion are three threads of the same cloth. When you're stressed, you sleep badly. When you sleep badly, your gut suffers. When your gut is unsettled, everything feels harder. Chinese medicine has always seen these as connected, and I treat them that way.

Stress, anxiety and emotional wellbeing

In a world that moves fast, an hour of being truly listened to is rare medicine. Many people tell me the hour on my table is the only time all week their mind goes quiet.

I support people with:

  • everyday stress and burnout

  • anxiety and a racing mind

  • low mood and feeling flat

  • big life changes and grief

Acupuncture works alongside, not instead of, care from your GP, psychologist or counsellor.

Sleep

Whether you can't fall asleep, wake at 3am, or wake up exhausted, I'll look at the pattern behind it. In Chinese medicine, the time you wake and how you feel tell me a lot. If you wear a sleep tracker, bring your data along. I love using it.

Digestion

  1. our gut is central to your energy in Chinese medicine. I help with:

  2. bloating and wind

  3. reflux and heartburn

  4. irregular bowels

  5. sluggish appetite and low energy after eating

  6. Alongside acupuncture and herbs, I'll often suggest simple food changes, like warm, cooked meals or a bowl of congee, that suit your body.

What to expect

  1. Your first visit will be. 60-75 minutes. We talk through your sleep, digestion, energy, mood and daily rhythm. Then your first treatment.

  2. Follow-ups will be 45-60 minutes. Weekly to start is common, then less often as you settle.

  3. Private health rebates can be claimed on the spot.

Common questions

  1. I've never had acupuncture and I'm nervous. Is that okay? Completely. We'll go slowly, I'll explain everything, and you can stop at any time.

  2. Will I feel tired afterwards? Many people feel calm and a little sleepy. Have a light meal and take it easy if you can.
